About

London AI filmmaker and screenwriter. I write and direct AI short films, series and brand campaigns. Seattle AI Film Festival selection. UK or remote. “Nicholas is one of the rare people in AI film who writes like a copywriter and thinks like a director. His scripts give the visuals something real to carry, and that’s exactly what most AI work is missing.” Ahmed Yahya, AI Creative Directo r. Holland/Remote I’m Nicholas Penrake and I’ve spent 30 years as a senior conceptual copywriter for big and small brands in the UK and globally. I’ve also been writing and directing narrative and documentary shorts throughout that same period. I have been represented by various managers based in Hollywood and had several of my feature screenplays optioned. Holy Moly , my ten-part satirical mockumentary set in small-town Louisiana, is live in full on my YouTube channel, Not So Artificial. In September 2026 I cut Holy Moly into a 103-minute AI feature film. My six-minute short, The Long Winter , a dialogue-free story of a Cree hunter in the mid-1800s, was selected for the Seattle AI Film Festival in 2026. I run the Break Into Three website which showcases most of the shorts I have produced. A recent 5-part documentary, Life Goes On , interviewing my own mother at 92 on her life leading up to and in the 12 months following my father’s death, was released on my personal YouTube channel in September 2026. Back in 2025, when Veo 3 arrived, I turned AI film director and set up Not So Artificial on YouTube to showcase my work. My daughter, Shiona Penrake , whose edits have gone viral many times over, is second editor, colourist and sound designer on every project. I also make AI music videos, including one set to Pink Floyd’s Time. You can hire me for: Writing and directing original AI short films and AI series AI brand films, ads and campaigns built on a real concept Scripts, treatments and creative direction for AI productions Story development for producers and production companies working with generative video AI music videos AI voice cloning for characters and voice-overs I work from London with brands, agencies and producers anywhere.
